CONCEPT
When designing the main building of the complex, we went beyond traditional architectural approaches, creating a holistic product tailored to user needs and taking into account all environmental aspects.
We addressed several equally important tasks dictated by the phased construction schedule and external constraints. The primary goal was to develop a functional layout for a large shared area divided into smaller plots with different owners, purposes, and lease terms. Flexibility was built into the complex — in case of subdivision, access to each plot is maintained, and the architecture eliminates the need for demolition on neighboring plots.
A pedestrian path runs through the entire restaurant area like a green thread, culminating in a seamless transition between buildings. The roofs of the buildings in the first construction phase are interconnected, creating a circular pedestrian route accessible both on the ground and "in the air." During the development of the first plot, art objects will be placed on adjacent plots, visible from multiple vantage points, encouraging exploration and interaction with the environment.
The second priority was the dense utilization of the first plot while approvals for the others were underway. The architecture of the main building integrates with the client’s existing projects, including villas and townhouses. The visual concept combines contemporary minimalist forms with elements of traditional Balinese architecture and classic stylobate arches, striking a balance through the use of simple materials: concrete, wood, and glass.
The project emphasizes multifunctionality — the stylobate creates a covered pedestrian area, while the second and third floors offer a full range of amenities for a dynamic day without leaving the complex. These include a gym, pool, massage rooms, coworking space, and a restaurant, all connected by a staircase that doubles as a recreational area and leads to a rooftop lounge. The pedestrian path, weaving through the restaurant and adjacent art installations, forms a circular route that invites exploration.
The project’s philosophy is embodied in the concept of the “Ring of Needs,” where each segment — mindfulness, mobility, and productivity — addresses specific user demands. For instance, the “Mindfulness Ring” includes massage, yoga, walks along the green path, and visits to the art park. The “Mobility Ring” features the gym and pool, while the “Productivity Ring” provides spaces for effective work. All programs can be personalized via a chatbot and AI tools.
The complex also offers customizable gift certificates for “a day at the complex” and rooftop subscriptions, granting access to all second- and third-floor amenities for a fulfilling day within the complex.
