The design project of an apartment in a multi-apartment residential complex includes an entrance hall, kitchen-living room, office, bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom. The customer’s main wishes were to make the premises as light and spacious as possible, so we made the walls white and used self-leveling flooring (also white).
In this interior, we wanted to display the atmosphere of the tropics, since one of the customer’s hobbies is surfing, and lots of tropical plants helped us with this.
To prevent the interior from looking “boring” and “sterile,” we used accents:
Kitchen
- Kitchen set: on the upper cabinets there are metal sheets; on the lower facades are white enamel MDF panels, which smoothly flow into the podium railings. Since our kitchen itself is not very large, we decided to place the refrigerator and freezer under the podium.
- In the center of the composition is a dining group consisting of a round black table by Delodesign and elegant black chairs by Regular Company, which do not overload the space.
- Above the dining group there is a pendant lamp of an unusual shape.
Living room
- In the living room area, the center of the composition is the Bo Concept sofa; we highlighted it in color (we had two options: terracotta and green); to the right of it there is a cozy armchair made of Bouclé fabric; and under the sofa there is a multi-colored carpet with an ethnic pattern.
- In addition to color accents, we also played with textures, so opposite the sofa there is a mirrored cube that will be used as a coffee table.
- The wall opposite the sofa will remain white; it can be used as a projector screen and to watch movies in the evenings. There is a low console at the bottom; we also used metal sheets in its facades (as in the kitchen facades).
Cabinet
- Since the ceiling height at our facility is quite high (3.5 m), we decided to place the work area on the podium, so we get not only an interesting planning solution but also additional storage space (we provided access hatches on the podium because there will be a storage area inside the podium).
- The structure of the podium is made using TECE profiles and plywood, and the flooring here is made of light gray carpet.
- The podium fencing smoothly flows into the kitchen facades, visually unifying the common space.
- There is a workplace on the podium; in finishing the table, we also use metal sheets that come from the kitchen facades.
- La forma work chair in black.
- In the corner behind the workplace, there is a small gray sofa.
Entrance hall, corridor
- We tinted the entrance door and the existing veneer in black since our color scheme is strictly consistent, without unnecessary shades and colors (in our project, we used white, gray, metal, black, and green for the sofa).
- At the entrance on the left side, there is a built-in wardrobe with white smooth matte facades; at the bottom, there is an open strip for shoes, made in graphite color.
- On the right side of the entrance, there is a mirror that is moved away from the wall at a distance of 15 cm. This allowed us to place discreet shelves for small items on the entrance side, and on the living room side, the end is covered with a metal sheet.
- Between the bedroom and the bathroom, we have a small corridor, at the end of which there is a utility closet, inside of which there is a washing machine and dryer.
- The utility cabinet is suspended 18 cm from the floor, creating the effect of a “floating” cabinet. At the bottom, we made an outlet; there will be a place for a robot vacuum cleaner.
Bedroom and dressing room
- We enter the bedroom through a small dressing room. On the right side, there is a wardrobe, and on the left, there is another workplace hidden.
- Cabinet fronts: smooth matte, white, with integrated handles.
- Workplace: for the customer’s girlfriend, here we decided to move away from our strict color palette and make the inside of the closet pink. The shelves were made of metal so that our materials would be consistent throughout the apartment.
- The center of the bedroom composition is definitely the bed, since one of the customer’s requests was to create a tropical atmosphere. Above the bed, we hung U-shaped profiles in the shape of a rectangle with a canopy, and, just like in the living room, we placed cactus.
- LED GRB lighting was added along the profile, which shines into the ceiling.
- Boca Slimbed: gray upholstery.
- On the left side of the bed, hang two thin vertical lamps SKANDI Minimal P. On the right side of the bed, there are sconces – Artemide Dioscuri wall.
- There are bedside tables on both sides of the bed. On the left side, there is a Lianf metal table, and on the right side, there is La Redoute AM.P.
- Since all the walls in our bedroom are white, and the fronts of the cabinets are too, we added an accent carpet. Cozy room BLANCHE Pure.
Project difficulties
The walls had already been finished in the apartment (white box finishing), so it was necessary to place everything within the existing boundaries, relying on the existing electrical system.
What know-how was applied to the project?
Smart home: use and control of light through the Alice column and Rubetek/Xiaomi smart sockets and switches; modern furniture solutions; home cinema (Samsung projector).
The entire apartment has ducted air conditioning and ventilation.
